Hi there! We are Jacob and Megan Gouge, the founders and directors of Maranatha House of Prayer. We met at Olivet Nazarene University in 2016 and it wasn't long before God began stirring a dream in our hearts and a call on our lives to build 24/7 prayer and worship in Kankakee. We got married in 2018 and spent our first year together completing an internship at The International House of Prayer in Grandview, MO. It was there that God gripped our hearts to spend our lives beholding His glory, partnering with Him through intercession for His purposes in the earth, and deeply longing for His return. The Biblical foundations of the house of prayer were written deep within our hearts and now our cry is that of David’s in Psalm 27:4, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple”. We moved back to Kankakee in 2019 and began to establish ourselves here and grow our family. By the grace of God, we launched MHOP in August 2022. We have one beautiful daughter. We love drinking coffee with friends and being outdoors when the Illinois weather allows it. We are so grateful that God is continuing to help us orient our entire lives around dwelling in his house and we can't wait to see the fruition of many prophetic promises over our community.

Maranatha House of Prayer has the privilege of being a part of a house of prayer network called PINET. This network is led by Brad Stroup, founder and director of The Prayer Room, located in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. This network consists of house of prayer leaders from around the nation. We love being a part of this because it allows us to get a glimpse of how God is establishing night and day prayer and worship around the world in this exciting hour of history!
